Goodness, I haven't blogged in a long time! Actually, I've written a lot of stuff, but I haven't posted any of it. That's fine. I make no apologies. I do what I want!
A LOT has happened in the last eight months. We got back to the northwest. Home! I don't think we knew how much we missed it until we were back. We missed the mist and the afternoon sunshine and the smell of evergreens and most of all, we missed our friends and family.
The plan was to spend the summer on the Washington coast and figure out where we wanted to go next. We considered Arizona. We pondered west Texas, near the Mexico border. We cherished dreams of warm, dry weather and watching the tarantula mating season in the Southwest. Or rather, most of us dreamed of the warmth. Only one of us dreamed of the tarantulas.
Then we got cozy, thought, "Ehhh, maybe we'll travel later!" and bought a house instead.
I love our house. It's like a little square mushroom, tucked into a grove of trees and a few short steps from a BIG dune and a much bigger beach. It's comfy and warm and full of beautiful nature photographs, left by the previous owner. Every bedroom has a balcony where you can open the sliding door and listen to the sound of the ocean. There is almost no sun, but we are building raised garden beds and planning to grow lots of spinach and salad greens. We have our RV set up as a guest house, and have folks visiting almost every weekend from now until March, which feeds my soul.
Here's to an amazing 2020! I turn 40 this year and I keep telling Jesse that this is the year I stop being polite and get obnoxious. He doesn't believe me. Stick around, friends!
